The SIR Card for every branch member explains your group to anyone they meet. The front side describes where and when the Branch meets for lunch and allows each member to write in his name and phone number. The back side identifies the activities available for members.
By clicking on the image you can download the 2 page Word document Template to create a card for your Branch.
You can print 1000 of these fill-in-the-blank cards for $30.00
You can show the back side to your acquaintance and see what they are interested in, in order to talk about their activities. If they aren’t interested in joining activities, they may not be good candidates for SIR. While your branch may not have some of these activities, a new member with interest in one could start it. If they are interested in your activities, invite them to a luncheon meeting.
1. Our members have given a few cards to their wives. The wives talk to their friends and ask if they want to get their newly retired husbands out of the house. We’ve gotten some new members that way.
2. Once a year, our greeters ask each Sir as they come in, if they have cards in their wallets. If not, they give them four cards and ask them to write their name and phone number on them. Ask them to give one to their wives!
3. Make personalized cards for any sponsor that sponsors five new members (A Recruitment Ace). Present these and a certificate and a free lunch at your luncheon meeting. Ask him how he recruits.
Anyone that is competent with Word can use the Template SIRcardinvite_20140914.doc to change the text to fit their Branch. *NOTE: After changing the text save this document under a new name. Change your branch information, save the document, then convert into PDF file for uploading to the printer’s site. You will need to save with embedded fonts.
An online source is http://www.printplace.com/printing/business-card-printing.aspx and 1000 cards, color both sides, acqueos coating, would cost around $30.
They will send you a proof--double check their proof. PrintPlace has helped with making the final proof.
Once you have printed 1000, you can put 2 or 3 cards by each plate at your luncheon for an introduction to how to use the cards. These few minutes will explain that they can be used for:
Casual Contacts on the golf course, at a coffee shop, on a Senior Center excursion, your Church, waiting for a bus to the game, etc..Give a few to your wives so they can pass on to their girl friends who want their husbands out of the house once in awhile.
The spares you can put by the sign-in area at every luncheon. Any member can pick up refills when they need them.
PS: Even if one or more of the activities listed are not currently active in your branch, leave them there for discussion of possible new activities.
