Sir Has Bocce Men And Coed Teams

For men and women who are not familiar with bocce, imagine outdoor bowling but without pins. It has become very popular, and many SIR branches have bocce activities.

Bocce is one of many games in the collection of boules games (which are games in which you throw or roll heavy balls toward a target ball). Its ancestry can be traced back to the Roman Empire. Their balls were probably made of stone.

As the game gained popularity through Europe, the name bocce from the Italian name “bowls,” was adopted for the game. Now the game has many names worldwide.

A regulation bocce court is 76 feet long and 12 feet wide. All you need is at least two people. SIR furnishes the balls.

The object of the game is for your team to roll its balls closest to the pallino, or jack. Players alternate until all balls are rolled. The team with the ball closest to the pallino wins a point, and the game winner is the team that gets to 21 points first.

Bocce is a fun, social activity that is a joy to play with your SIR friends.
