Most SIR branches have a golf activity (NCGA Associate Golf Club) and play once a week at nearby courses. Many branches offer both 9-hole and 18-hole groups and play various formats (Low Net, Best Ball, Scramble, etc.). Many also have coed 9-hole events on a regular basis.
SIR also offers away tournaments for all SIR NCGA branch members. Each year we schedule several two-day or three-day tournaments in various locations (e.g. Las Vegas, Reno, Solvang, San Diego).
We also hold a State Scramble Team Championship in August and a State Individual Championship in October. Area and Division qualifying tournaments are held at various locations to determine participation in these two State Championships. Courses we play include Rancho Solano in Fairfield, Chardonnay in Napa, Eagle Vines in Napa, Hiddenbrooke in Vallejo, Elkhorn in Stockton, and The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton.
Come join us! All tournaments are handicapped and flighted. It’s fun for golfers of all abilities, and women too.
